Why should we use a compass?
Compass points are used to show the direction of places on maps when we want to move from one place to another and they enable us to describe where we are

LAtitude is Lines Around the earth
What is LOngitude?
LOngitude is Lines Over the earth
What is the equator?
The equator is the line that separates the northern hemisphere and the Southern Hemisphere its latitude is 0
What is the prime meridian?
The prime meridians longitude is 0 and it separates the world in half vertically
What are the lines of longitude?
The lines of longitude meet at the north and South Pole the lines basically circle the earth from top to bottom, the lines of latitude go from side to side of the earth
The Tropic of Cancer
The Tropic of Cancer is an imaginary latitude line located above the equator that runs across the globe at about 23 .5° north. This is the exact location where the sun is overhead on June 21.
The Tropic of Capricorn
This is the parallel of latitude that runs approximately 23.5 degrees south of the Equator, and is the farthest southern latitude at which the sun can appear directly overhead.
