finding the exact position of a structure that cant be seen directly

assessing displacement of fractures

A
2 views/radiographs taken of the same object with a change in angulation of the beam
relative movement of object being localised to fixed point
horizontal/vertical plane
usually taken to determine buccal/palatal position of non visible object
