- a person in control is more likely to disclose abuse, as they will have higher levels of confidence

- action must be taken to reduce the risk of abuse, making it less likely
- there are consequences in failing to provide a duty of care; therefore, care workers must ensure that individuals are protected from harm, risk + abuse
- care workers/organisations mustn’t allow individuals to be placed in the way of harm + risk assessments help them to do this. Therefore, it reduces the likelihood of abuse occurring

records should be factually accurate, relevant, up to date + auditable. They should support monitoring, risk assessments + planning. should enable + timely referrals to be made when necessary
a well maintained chronology is fundamental of good record keeping

- info shared between agencies must be accurate, as it’ll be used to protect individuals + if it’s incorrect/incomplete, it’ll mean that they will not be supported
