What are the firstaid regualtions 1981?
- Employers must have provision for first aid
- Employers must have completed a needs assessment

What are the responsibilities of a first aider?
- prevent further damage to yourself and others
- no medical aid
- prevent condtion from becoming worse
- prevent delay in recovery

- importnace of preventing cross contamination
- need for recording incidents and accidents

- asses siutaions and circumstances to act safely

- leaflet
- 2 sterile eye pads
- 2 large sterile wound dressings
- 3 disposable gloves
- 4 sterile traingular bandgades
- 6 safety pins
- 6 medium sized sterile wound dressings
- 20 sterile plasters
how to help a casualty who is choking?
- encourgae them to cough
- 5 back blows between shoulder blades
- abdonimal thrusts 5 times
- if still choking call 999
first aid for a casualty whoese unconscious?
- check for danger
- speak to them to see if you can get response
- shake shoulders/pinch ear
- tilt head back and open airway
- call 999 if not breathing
- check for circulation
how to give first aid to a casualty who is wounded or bleeding
- put on disposbale gloves
- cut or move clothes
- dont remove any objects
- apply direct pressure
- call 99 if its serve
- secure bleeding with dressings
- check every 10 mins circulation is going through
why shouldnt you remove first bandage
if it bleeds through the first banadge keep it on because its started clotting
can alwyas add a second or third bandadge
how to administer CPR?
- child
- call 999/for help
- open their airway and pinch nose
- seal mouth and give 5 rescue breaths
- one hand on centre of chest and push down one third
30:2 breaths
how to give CPR?
- adult
- call 999 and start cpr
- one hand centre and other on top
- push down 5-6cm
- give 30 chest compressions
- seal mouth and give 2 rescue breaths
how to help a casualty who is suffering from shock?
- look for symptons, weak pulse or restless behaviour
- lie them down and raise their legs
- call 999
- loosen any tight clothing
- keep them warm
- check regualry theyre responsive
what shouldnt you give during first aid?
food and drink - incase they need to operate
how to treat a cut/graze
- put on disposable gloves
- clean the wound,aplly pressure and dry
- apply a sterile dressing
how to treat a burn
- run under cold water for 10 minutes
- check casulty is okay throughout
- if its chemical or large amount call 999
