A

• Promoting health, safety & security policies
• Update and review them
• Make staff aware of policies through: posters, training, etc.
• Ensure staff know their own responsibilities
• Accidents/Near misses reported
• Complete fire evacuation practices, test alarms, etc.
• Complete safety audits (Incl. risk assessments)
• Prepare for inspections by the CQC/OFSTED
• Ensure staff are DBS checked

CRIMINAL PROSECUTION

A

-HASAWA 1974 - if employer commits an offence, a charge of gross negligence manslaughter can be brought (fines/jail)
-corporate manslaughter offence can be committed by an organisation if a death occurs as a result of senior managements activities
