What is Equality and Diversity?
Equality- Treating people differently in order to receive the same outcome.
Diversity- Respecting individuals differences
What is Confidentiality and why might you break it?
Confidentiality is keeping a piece of information private and not spreading it around for members of the public to hear or discuss.
It may be broken to follow the safeguarding guidelines, as there may be a breach of health and safety involved.
What are Rights?
Rights are a set of rules that must be followed, if not consequences will follow, they are also entitled for every individual as a form to protect their safety and individual rights.

What are support networks and what are their roles?
A range of services available in HSC to help individuals by giving them advice, information and practical support.
What is an advocate?
An advocate is someone who speaks on behalf of an individual who is unable to do so themselves.
They WILL- speak on behalf/represent the individuals wishes and views/ ensure the rights and needs are recognised
They WILL NOT- give their own personal opinions/ make own decisions for individual/ speak for
What is empowerment?
Enabling and supporting individuals to take control of their own lives.
