What does the letter ‘ M ‘ stand for in Mrs Gren and what does it do?
M- Movement- changing your position in response to your surroundings- perhaps to escape from danger or to hunt for food!
What does the letter ‘ R ‘ ( first one) stand for in Mrs Gren and what is its function?
R- Respiration- releasing energy from food stored chemicals- we need this energy to survive and carry out the other process. (respiration is NOT the same as breathing, although we breathe in to obtain the oxygen we need for respiration)
What does the letter ‘ S ‘ stand for in Mrs Gren and what is its function?
S- Sensitivity- being able to detect information about our surroundings, so that our body can respond accordingly.( We use our senses of hearing, sight, smell, taste and touch)
What does the letter ‘ G ‘ stand for in Mrs Gren and what is its function?
G- Growth- Our bodies develop over time, becoming larger and stronger in order to survive. ( Animals usually stop growing at a certain point, but plants can continue to grow.)
What does the letter ‘ R ‘ stand for in Mrs Gren and what is its function?
R- Reproduction- The ability to create offspring, to replace those that have dies and ensure survival of the species.
What does the letter ‘ E ‘ stand for in Mrs Gren and what is its function?
E- Excretion- Removing waste products from the body. ( For humans, this includes carbon dioxide water, urea and other toxins.
What does the letter ‘ N ‘ stand for in Mrs Gren and what is its function?
N- Nutrition- Feeding on food to gain the energy needed for the other processes and nutrients needed to maintain good health.
