Cells and Tissues🌷 Flashcards
What is in a typical plant cell?
Cytoplasm, Nucleus, Chloroplast, Mitochondrion, Vacuole, Cell Wall and Cell membrane.
What is in a typical animal cell?
Nucleus, Cell Membrane, Cytoplasm and Mitochondrion.
What are the three differences between a plant and an animal cell?
Well a plant cell has Chloroplast, Vacuole and a Cell Wall where as a animal cell does not contain any of these.
What is the function of Cytoplasm?
Is a Gel- Like substance where most chemical reactions take place.
What is the function of Nucleus?
It contains DNA and controls the cells function.
What is the function of a Cell Membrane?
Controls substances entering and leaving the cell.
What is the function of a Cell wall in a Typical Plant Cell?
It is made of cellulose and it provides support and structure to the cell
What is the function of the Vacuole in a Typical Plant Cell?
Contains a solution of water, sugars and salts.
What is the function of Mitochondrion?
Respiration takes place here, releasing energy.
What is the function of Chloroplast in a Typical Plant Cell?
Contains a green substance called ‘ chlorophyll which traps light and is required for photosynthesis.
