Living space
A building badly built and falling apart which someone lives in despite how dangerous it is.
The bag of eggs hanging up show hope for the future.

Irregular form by using stanzas and lines of different lengths to show the reader the chaos. Growing sense of wonder with the one long sentence at the end
What is the structure?

Poem is built in 2 parts. Opens with a description of an unstable house. 2nd and 3rd stanza the mood shifts and Dharker begins to hint that there is optimism for the future.

The bulidings chaos is shown through words which suggest instability.
What is the symbolism?

The eggs represent faith. Faith can be broken like eggs. Eggs symbolises new life which means their children’s life could be better.
What is the light and dark?

The White eggs stand out against the dark edge which could represent the dangerous nature of the living conditions.
