A hurricane approaches and the speaker takes refuge in her study and thinks about her partner. Hurricane represent her old boyfriends.

Written I’m free verse. 1st stanza uses regular rhyming couplets so the reader expects love poem. The rhyme scheme is disrupted in the middle of the 2nd stanza to show the hurricane has done it, but a new ABAB rhyme scheme is establish the last 4 lines.
