Liver Histology - aubie aubie aubie aubie Flashcards
what’s the fibrous coat over the liver called?
glisson’e capsule
what are at the of liver lobules?
Center of lobule?
Portal canal (artery, vein, duct) Central vein
blood flows to or from the central vein.
to it. the artery and vein outside lobule flow to the central vein.
In the lobule, be able to define the vein, artery and duct. What do they look like?
Vein - largest
artery -
duct - cuboidal epithelium
where is the space of Disse?
it’s area between hepatocyes and veins. (perisinusoidal space)
cells that store fat and vitamin A
Stellate cells, also called Ito cells, but that’s dumb.
Parenchymal cells have microvilli that extend into what area formed by tight junctions between cells?
Bile canaliculi
3 types of lobule
Classic, portal, acinus
Classic lobule.
ya know, central vein, hexagonal shape, blood flows to center, bile flows away from center.
Portal lobule
It’s just a different way of defining the same lobule. but now the central lobules are the corners of a triangle, which makes the portal artery etc. the middle
acinus lobule
it’s the branching pattern of the hepatic vein and artery.
zone 1, 2 and 3. 1 is most oxygen and nutrients. zone 3 is prone to ischemia
