Liver Flashcards
1
Q
Liver abscess imaging
A
Low attenuating mass with irregular margins. Rim enhancing and surrounding oedema.
2
Q
FNH imaging
A
isoattenuating mass non con, arterial hypervascular and hypodense central scar, feeding arteriole
3
Q
Adenoma
A
hyperechoic on USS, hertergenous secondary to haemorrhage. CT - attenuation depends on lipid content - my have peripheral enhancement with centripetal progression
4
Q
Pathophys of gallstone formation
A
High concentration of pigments from Hb breakdown (haemolytic conditions) Stasis of bile Supersaturation of bile salts mucin acts as a nidus for crystals ratio of bile salts to cholesterol
5
Q
imaging of hemangioma
A
USS - well circumscribed homogenous mass, usually hyperechoic
CT hypodense, well demarcated mass. Peripheral nodular enhancement in early phase, followed by centripetal pattern/filling in late phase. Opacify after a delay of 3-4 minutes.
