Little Hans Study In Detail Flashcards
Methodology and procedure
Clinical interview (father) and case study. Listened to father, asked questions and analysed symbols.
Results
-Wanted father to ‘trot’ away so he could be alone with mother.
Afraid of horse biting him shows fear of father finding out.
- 3yrs had interest in ‘widdler’, mum threatened to cut it off. Had a dream about sharing his ‘widdler’ with a girl= desire for mother
-had imaginary children with mother and the father was the grandad with a smaller ‘widdler’ than him.
Conclusion
Dad relates to horse; bigger widdler, with black harness(dads black moustache) replace hate from dad to horses.
Conflict in parents bed- less access to mother- Oedipus complex
Resolved when he imagines himself with bigger penis marries mother had children and imagines dad as plumber and grandfather- fear goes
Aim
To cure Hans horse phobia and factors that led to it
