A

The use of sophisticated language, without the use of slang or colloquialisms. Usually sticks to grammatical rules and uses complicated syntax

A

Informal diction is more conversational and used most often in conversational literature. The use of less formal communication is to represent how people communicate in real life.

A

This is used when the author is highly detailed or academic in their writing. The rods the author uses are used to convey only one meaning.

A

Colloquial words or expressions are informal and generally represent a certain region or time. EX. “ain’t” “Yall”
