Structure
the arrangement of and relations between the parts or elements of something complex.
Style
style is the way in which an author writes a story.
Symbol
an object, a person, a situation, or an action that has a literal meaning in a story but suggests or represents other meanings.
Syntax
the arrangement of words and phrases to create well-formed sentences in a language.
Theme
the subject of a talk, a piece of writing, a person’s thoughts, or an exhibition
Tone
The way the author expresses their attitude through their writing
Tongue in Cheek
an idiom that describes a humorous or sarcastic statement expressed in a serious manner.
Tragic Flaw
a character trait that leads to or contributes to a character’s tragic downfall
Transition/Segue
to make a transition without interruption from one activity, topic, scene, or part to another
