Denouement
the outcome of a complex sequence of events
Deus ex Machina
a person or thing (as in fiction or drama) that appears or is introduced suddenly and unexpectedly and provides a contrived solution to an apparently insoluble difficulty
distortion
the act of twisting or altering something out of its true, natural, or original state
Enjambment
No natural break in a poem
Epigram
a concise poem dealing pointedly and often satirically with a single thought or event and often ending with an ingenious turn of thought
Epigraph
a quotation set at the beginning of a literary work or one of its divisions to suggest its theme
Epiphany
an illuminating discovery, realization, or disclosure
Epistolary Novel
a novel written as a series of letters
Essay
An analytic or interpretive literary composition usually dealing with its subject form a limited or personal point of view
Euphemism
subtituting a harsh phrase for a gentle one (passed away)
Euphony
pleasing or sweet sound
