What are the 3 factors to considering disaster risk?
A
Disaster risk is viewed as the intersection of hazard, exposure, and
vulnerability
- The hazard profile
- A function of the geographical location, the geo-physical characteristics, and the
climatic conditions faced by that region. - The exposure of population and assets
- Determined by their location. - The vulnerability of the exposed population
- The ability of the exposed population to withstand the hazard and reduce its
social, economic, and personal impacts.
