Liquid Oxygen/Nitrogen Vaporizers General, Physical, Functional And Interface Description Flashcards
Vaporizers
Converts high pressure cryogenic liquid to a high pressure gas at or near ambient temperature
Intermittent
To cease for a time and then re-start. To operate at intervals
Vaporizer Temperature Operating Range INLET
Cryogenic liquid temperature
Vaporizer Temperature Operating Range OUTLET
20 degrees Fahrenheit to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
Vaporizer Power Requirements
112.5 kw at 440 VAC
60 Hz
3 Phase
Vaporizer input pressure is the same as the cryogenic pump discharge pressure maximum for liquid nitrogen
5000 PSIG
Vaporizer input pressure is the same as the cryogenic pump discharge pressure maximum for liquid oxygen
3200 PSIG
Vaporizer output pressure
Will vary according to downstream system pressure
Heat Exchanger Assembly
9 aluminum cast modules
Two base load heaters per module
One trim load heaters per module
Pressure Control PS-1 Safety Device
Set to de-energize the Cryogenic Pump and Vaporizer at 3200 PSIG rising for oxygen and 5000 PSIG rising for nitrogen
TS-1 Safety Device
Open if gas discharge temperature drops below 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
Manually reset
TS-2 Safety Device
Cycles trim load heaters on and off to maintain vaporizer discharge temperature at 70 degrees Fahrenheit
TS-3 Safety Device
Opens when vaporizer discharge gas temperature rises to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
Manually restart
TS-4 Safety Device
Open switch when the vaporizer casing temperature rises to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
Manually restart
