Mostly subcutaneous tissue

Symptoms and signs of lipoma?
A
Soft, mobile, superficial
Slow growing
Well circumscribed
<5cm usually

Aetiology/risk factors for lipoma?
A
Genetic
Trauma
Alcohol

Investigations for lipoma?
A
Mainly clinical diagnosis
If more than three cm, deep and firm:
Imaging= MRI [best] or CT [if on trunk]
Very rarely might need biopsy
Be careful about whether it is malignant liposarcoma
