Q

How does high LDL contribute to atherosclerotic plaques?

A

The high LDL gets oxidised and taken up my macrophages which become foamy macrophages and accumulate in the blood vessel walls
Leads to fatty streak which accumulates and becomes atherosclerotic plaque formation
