Syntax (distributional)
The study of the principles governing how words can be built into sentences, phrases, et cetera
Morphology
The study of the principles that govern internal form of words.
Syntactic Categories
Nouns, verbs, adjectives, prepositions, adverbs, conjunctions, et cetera
Affixes
Occur at the end of a word: Suffixes (-ness, -ation)
Occur at the beginning of a word: Prefixes
