Femoral Arterial LIne
- no hip flexion past 60 degrees
- strict bed rest for 60-90 minutes after removal of line
Radial or brachial Arterial Line
-will have a splint
Pacemaker
- mobility restrictions
- keep wires dry
Pulmonary Artery Line (PA Line, Swan Ganz)
- bed rest
- avoid certain movements
Oxygen Therapy
- Flammable
- too much can be toxic
Chest Tube
- attached to wall suction
- drainage must be below insertion on body
- prevent kinks
- tube wont affect movement but condition can
Nasogastric Tube NGT
- Determine if can be removed from suction
- must remain clamped when off suction
Suprapubic Catheter
- avoid pressure here
- bag must be lower than body
Surgical Drain
- can be pinned to patients skin
- watch for leaking
Foley/Texas Catheter
easily dislodged
-keep below bladder
Arteriovenous Graft/ Fistula
No blood pressure on that side
Central LIne
No Blood pressure on that extremity
Midline Catheter
No BP monitoring on that side
Nasoenteric feeding tube
- tube on hold when bed is flat
- clogs eay
PEG/PEJ Tube (abdomin)
- tube on hold when flat
- no gait belt over this area
