Limitations rev 10 Flashcards
Maximum Takeoff and Landing Tailwind Component:
Maximum Operating Altitude:
ISFD limit:
15 knots
43,100 ft (oma= 41,000)
Do not fly in RVSM airspace on ISFD alone (does not meet accuracy requirements)
Do not operate HF radios when :
refueling.
when is an operational check of the Flight Deck Security Door needed?
Verify that an operational check of the Flight Deck Access System has been accomplished according to approved procedures once each flight day.
maximum (demonstrated) crosswind for takeoff and for landing:
787-8
The maximum demonstrated crosswind
takeoff - 35 knots . landing - 33 knots.
787-9
The maximum demonstrated crosswind
takeoff - 29 knots . landing - 35 knots.
Severe turbulent air penetration speed:
below 25,000’=290 KIAS
above 25,000’=310 KIAS/.84 Mach (whichever is lower)
weather radar operation:
Avoid weather radar operation in a hangar, or within 50 feet (15.25 meters) of fueling operations or a fuel spill.
Avoid weather radar operation when personnel are within the area normally enclosed by the aircraft nose radome.
allowable difference between Captain’s / 1stOfficer’s altitude display and field elevation:
max 75 feet.
Prior to takeoff…
max Weight Limitations:
Max Zero Fuel Weight
787-8: 161,025 Kg
787-9: 181,436 Kg
Max Takeoff Weight
787-8: 227,930 Kg
787-9: 252,650 Kg
Max Landing Weight
787-8: 172,365 Kg
787-9: 192,776 Kg
Autopilot, # min engage alt': # min height for use of FLCH: # min disengage heights:
The autopilot must not be engaged below a minimum engage altitude of 200 feet AGL after takeoff.
Do not use FLCH on final approach below 1,000 feet AFE.
787-8:
# Without LAND 2 or LAND 3 annunciated, the autopilot must be disengaged below 100 feet AGL.
787-9:
# Without LAND 2 or LAND 3 annunciated, the autopilot must be disengaged below 135 feet AGL.
With LAND 2 or LAND 3 annunciated and glideslope angles greater than 3.25 degrees, the autopilot must be disengaged below 100 feet AGL.
If the glidepath angle for approach is greater than 3.77 degrees, the autopilot must be disengaged no later than 50 feet below DH/MDA.
Automatic Landing; # max field elevation: # max wind component: # max/min glideslope angle: Flaps setting allowed:
# Autoland capability may only be used for operations into runways: at or below 8400 feet airport field elevation.
Maximum wind component speeds when landing weather minima are predicated on autoland operations: # Headwind 25 knots # Tailwind 15 knots # Crosswind 25 knots Note: The limitations above refer to steady state winds. Any gust values that exceed the steady state wind limit are not limiting for landing, but should be considered in the decision to continue to landing.
# max glideslope angle=3.25 degrees # min glideslope angle=2.5 degrees.
Autoland capability may be used with flaps 20, 25, or 30, with both engines operative or with one engine inoperative.
Low Visibility (HUD) Takeoff:
# Headwind 25 knots # Tailwind 15 knots # Crosswind 20 knots
Audio Control Panel (ACP):
Use of the captains or first officers ACP to establish a SATCOM/cabin conference is prohibited.
Engines; # Oil temperature for start: # use of reverse thrust:
Oil temperature must be greater than -40° C for engine start.
# Intentional selection of reverse thrust in flight is prohibited. # Backing the airplane with use of reverse thrust is prohibited.
Ground wind operating envelope:
- with a tailwind component and total wind greater than 42 knots, limit engines to taxi power
- for crosswinds greater than 45 knots, limit engines to taxi power
- for winds greater than 65 knots, do not run engines
Fuel;
Fuel tank loading:
operating temperatures:
Main tanks must be scheduled to be full if center tank fuel is loaded.
Note: The center tank may contain up to 10,000 kilograms of fuel with less than full main tanks provided center tank fuel weight plus actual zero fuel weight does not exceed the maximum zero fuel weight, and center of gravity limits are observed.
Tank fuel temperature prior to takeoff must not be less than -29° C (-20° F).
In-flight tank fuel temperature must be maintained at least -42° C, as well as 3° C above the freezing point of the fuel being used.
