Speedbrakes

Fuel Balance
- Fill Main tanks first.
- No more than 22.0 K# in Center Tanks with less than full Main Tanks.
- Actual ZFW + C Fuel < MZFW, with less than full mains.
- Max imbalance is 1500# - 2500# when total main tank fuel is 79,800# - 48,000#.
- Jettison active - no less than 10,300# in wing tanks
Fuel Temp
- In flight fuel temperature must be held +3 degrees above freezing point (-40 for Jet A)
- The use of Fuel System Icing Inhibitors does not change the minimum fuel tank temperature limit.
Which Fuels can we not use?
- JP4 and Jet B
- If in doubt, double check current GE and/or PW specs.
Icing Conditions
- OAT, or TAT in-flight, is less than 10 degrees C, and
- visible moisture, standing water… (visibility is 1 mi or less)
Auto Ice Detect System (-300F)
- Engine anti-ice ON for ground operations.
- In flight, use the auto system.
Engine Anti-Ice
- Engine Anti-Ice must be ON during ground ops when icing conditions are anticipated.
Ice Crystal Operating Conditions
- Engine Anti-Ice ON (NOT AUTO) @ any temp.
- Wing Anti-Ice ON in Ice Crystal Icing, below 22000’
- ICI Characteristics:
- Amber/Red Radar returns below A/C
- Apparent Rain, odd noise, &/or abnormally low temp.
- A/T unable to maintain airspeed.
- EICAS TAT stays near 0 C
Window Heat
ON for all normal ops.
RVSM Equipment
- STBY Altimeters do not meet accuracy requirements.
- 200’ Max in-flight difference between CAPT and FO.
- 40’ 45’ or 50’ Max difference on the ground at sea level, 5000’ and 10000’ Field Elevations.
- 75’ Max difference with Field Elevation.
