Benefits of Using Daylighting Systems

Mounted flush to the ceiling, these lights provide low light. They are typically attached to a wall switch.
Ceiling lights
When placed on a dimmer switch, it can be used for ambient ceiling lighting.
Recessed lighting
one of the most dramatic types of fixtures. Some designs provide both uplighting and downlighting.
Chandeliers
reflects light toward the ceiling. This lighting option brightens up any corner or area in a room.
torchière floor or table lamp
necessary for tasks that require more light than ordinary ceiling lights can provide. It is s beneficial for activities such as reading, working at a desk, cooking and other chores.
Task Lighting
Typically mounted beneath a cabinet, under cabinet
lighting added to a kitchen, workshop or craft room provides excellent task lighting.

Suspended from the ceiling, these lights provide direct overhead lighting to work areas.

Still a favorite choice for many people wishing to highlight works of art. It can also be used to provide

Track lighting
Art buffs enjoy picture lighting that can be place directly above a painting. This type of light fixture provides direct downlighting to highlight the work of art.
Picture lighting
used for ceilings, especially tray ceilings (also referred to as trey ceilings), valances, and ledges. The lighting strip is placed between the cove and the ceiling.
Cove lighting
refers to any light source that is produced by electrical means.
Artificial light
the practice of placing windows or other
openings and reflective surfaces so that during
the day natural light provides effective internal
lighting.
Daylighting
a daylighting strategy that uses apertures located in
the wall planes as the point of admission for ambient
daylight.
Sidelighting
a daylighting strategy that uses apertures located at
the roof plane as the point of admission for ambient
daylight.
Toplighting
Are used to more evenly distribute daylight
entering a building through sidelighting
