Investigate refractive index

A
  1. Shine light ray through the glass block
  2. Use crosses to mark the path of the ray
  3. Join up crosses with a ruler
  4. Draw on a normal where the ray enters the glass block
  5. Measure the angle of incidence and angle of refraction.
  6. Repeat for different angles, plot on table, calculate refractive index and find avg.

Q

Oscilloscope and mic displays sound waves

A
  • plug mic into oscilloscope
  • sound will transfer into an electrical signal which the oscilloscope can display
→ greater amplitude = more energy
    → more energy = louder
  • frequency low means pitch low + vice versa
