Ligaments Of The Hip Flashcards
What are the 3 capsular hip ligaments called?
Iliofemoral capsular ligament
Pubofemoral capsular ligament
Ischiofemoral capdsular ligament
What shape is the iliofemoral ligament?
Y shaped
Where is the iliofemoral ligament located? What view?
Anterior
Where is the iliofemoral apex and base joined to?
The ilium, specifically between the AIIS and the acetabulum. And the two base attachments are along the intertrochanteric line.
What shape is the pubofemoral ligament ?
Triangle shaped.
Where can the pubofemoral ligament be veiwed?
The anterior- inferior aspect.
Where is the base of the pubofemoral ligament attached?
Iliopubic eminence, adjacent bond and obturator membrane, and blends in with the iliofemoral ligament.
What does the ischiofemoral ligament do?
Reinforces the posterior aspect fo the fibrous capsule.
What are the attachments of the ischiofemoral ligament?
Onto the ischium, posterior- inferior to the acetabulum and laterally to the greater trochanter deep to the iliofemoral ligament.
What are the non-capsular ligaments of the hip joint?
Ligamentum teres
Transverse Acetabular ligament
