Ligaments of elbow+ Radio ulnar JTs Flashcards

Q

Medial Collateral ligament (Ulmar)

A

Medial epicondyle humerus
coronoid process and olecron of ulna

Q

Annular Ligament

A

Anterior aspect of radial notch of ulna
posterior aspects of radial both of ulna (encircles radial head)

function: holds radial head in radial notch of ulna- allows radial head to rotate during supination/pronation

Q

Interosseous Membrane

A

Length of border of ulna (adjacent to radius)
Length of border of radius (adjacent to ulna)

Ties ulna and radius together whilst still permitting supination and pronation. Attachment site for forearm muscles

Q

Triangular ligament (disc.)

A

Apex- ulnar styloid process
base-ulnar notch of radius

function: binds the ends of radius and ulna together for distal R_U JT. forms articular surface with wrist.
