What were the Riches homes like?
Many landowners used their wealth to remodel their homes. Brick used to create chimneys. Big windows, fireplaces, decorated with painting and tapestries.
What was the Rich fashion like?
They would wear the finest materials (Velvet, linen, silk.) ladies would where jewellery.
What was the Rich education like?
Sons of wealthy nobles were tutored at home, learnt the classics, French, Latin and Greek, social etiquette, hunting & dancing.
What were Rich daughters taught?
How to run a large house.
What were the homes of the poor like?
Only have one room and likely share with animals. Minimal furniture.
What would the working hours for the Poor be?
For a tenant farmer or labourer the hours were from 5am-5pm. They would get a break between 7 & 11am for bread, cheese and ale.
What was the fashion like for the Poor?
The Poor would have few changes of clothes.
What was the leisure time like for the Poor?
Tavern, gambling, fishing, archery, bands of strolling players.
What would education be like for the poor?
They were usually uneducated, some had been taught basic reading and writing.
