Lever passage set
When would you use a flushbolt instead of roller latch?
Flushbolt - for double doors if you want to use 1 side (pins 1 side of the door closed, going in and out with rolling carts etc,
Dummy set with roller latch - better for bedroom closet, standard closet, less strong, wouldn’t pin one side stationary
Does any life safety equipment (SD, emerg lighting…) get placed in stairway or adj tenant space?
No.
Exit sign in rooms (ex PDP training room) must be placed on the door leading to public corridor and door leading back to office area?
Yes
What to remember about emerg lighting?
place so can light max amt of space
Think about how to aim them!
Illuminate door and path to door
Aim to light the path of egress
Where is AV best placed?
Occupants have to be able to see it but also good to place near exits (wayfindingish)
For mounting consider window and ceiling heights
What 2 things must be noted on the Life Safety drawing?
- All wall mnt’d exit signs, emergency lights and AV alarms to be mounted @ 7’-6” AFF
- All FEC to be mnt’d @ 40” AFF
Where would you use a magnetic lock?
Main entry/egress doors or main office suite doors (requires power)
Where would you use a lever passage set and dummy w/ flush bolt?
Has no lock but want to keep one door stationary and other is used for access
Lever lockset requires…

It disengages itself (nothing to do with panic bar)

Server room, some storage. Not for controlled access.
