Why where there holes near the ears of the death mask of Agamemnon
The hole by the ears would have been threaded with twine and fixed over the face of the deceased. Even in death, the wearer would appear dignified and imposing, with its striking beard, moustache, and closed eyes.
What is thought to be believed about the death mask of Agamemnon
That it isn’t Agamemnon and also some believe that the mask was ‘planted’ there by the excavator Schielman
