Asia became real and reachable. All the stories and descriptions of the expensive asian goods like silks, velvet, satin and spices could not only be very profitable to Europe but can also build the empire.
Columbus Project
Columbus believed that a boat journey by boat from Europe to Asia should be relatively easy via an as-yet undiscovered Northwest Passage. He presented his plan to officials in Portugal and England, but it was not until 1492 that he found a sympathetic audience.- queen isabellan and king Ferdinand

LAS CASAS AND NEW LAWS
In 1542, due to the constant protests of Las Casas and others, the Council of the Indies wrote and King Charles V enacted the New Laws of the Indies for the Good Treatment and Preservation of the Indians. The New Laws abolished Indian slavery and also ended the encomienda system.
HOUSE OF TRADE
regulated and controlled the colonial trade. an agent of the house of trade was based in each Caribbean colony. the agent had the job of representing the crown by making sure duties were paid and trade was controlled

responsible for the governing of the Spanish Empire, including issues of religion. it was the most important administrative and advisory body for those overseas realms, such as the Spanish East Indies.
The Portuguese were the earliest participants in this “Age of Discovery,” also known as “Age of Exploration.”

About six months later, in September 1493, Columbus returned to the Americas. began to rebuild
Then he headed west to continue his mostly fruitless search for gold and other goods. His group now included a large number of indigenous people the Europeans had enslaved.
third voyage
May 1498, Columbus sailed west across the Atlantic for the third time. He visited Trinidad and the South American mainland
