2010-15 Coalition government gained influence however was considered a massive failure
Attempt to reduce tuition fees failed
AV referendum 2011 - 67% voted no and only 42% turned out
Policies of the Liberal Democrats
- 2017 increase corporation tax to 20% and committed to taking 50,000 refugees by 2020
- oppose the opening of more grammar schools and want FSM
- Pro EU and demanding a second referendum
- Focus on human rights
- support proportional representation
