Phonology
The study of sounds in speech and writing in order to convey certain effects.
Grammar
Grammar refers to how language is put together and structured to form meaning.
Syntax
How words are ordered into particular sentence elements.
Word Grammar
How particular word classes are chosen for different effects.
Semantics
The study of meanings.
Loaded Words
Words that have strong negative or strong positive connotations and can have a powerful emotional impact.
Polysemic
Words that have more than one meaning.
Lexical Cohesion
Describes how related words are chosen to link elements of a text together.
Reiteration / Repetition
Saying the word more than once.
Synonymy
Words that refer to the exact state and have the same meaning.
Hyponym
Words that are related because one of the words is a superordinate in the family tree of the other.
Reiteration through hyponym allows various elements to be brought under 1 general term.
