describe the 3 tiers of national government
parliament - makes the laws
cabinet - ensures that the laws are carried out
judiciary - decides whether or not the law has been broken

national council of provinces - body that was created insure all provinces involved in / co-operate in the legislative process
national assembly - has 400 members who represent the differ political parties and are elected every 5 years in a national election, they’re responsible for drawing laws
what is judiciary made up of
various courts in the country, such as the Supreme Court and Magistrates Courts
describe provincial government
each province has its own government. member are also elected every 5 years. the executive council of a province consists of a premier and a number of members (MECs). Premiers appointed by the President of the country. decisions are take by consensus each member has a department to manage

it consists of municipalities. large areas governed by metropolitan municipalities. smaller areas governed by local municipalities who are grouped into districts. responsible for local roads, traffic, clinics, libraries, sewage, water and transport
