Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA)

Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA)

federal law that aims to protect people and the environment from the harmful effects of air pollution
Clean Water Act (CWA)
federal law that establishes the basic structure for regulating discharges of pollutants into the waters of the United States and for regulating quality standards for surface waters
Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)
framework for the proper management of hazardous and non-hazardous solid waste
Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA)
federal law that protects public drinking water supplies by instituting standards for drinking water quality and various technical and financial programs to ensure drinking water safety
National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA)
federal law requires federal agencies to assess the environmental effects of their proposed actions prior to making decisions
