What is a Form of Tender?

A

Acknowledgement the tenderer understands the T&Cs of the tender documents and any other requirements stipulated

Includes confirmation of cost & programme for the works

What is a certificate of a bona fide tender

A

Declaration of non-collusion

The declaration may require that the tenderer confirms that: Their tender is bona fide. They have not colluded with any other party to fix or adjust the tender price.

A tender query schedule was also included clarifying some generic queries (ie are we to allow paint finishes to window frames)

Are you aware of any trends in the market in terms of procurement and tendering?

A

Clients prefer to use single stage

Contractors prefer 2 stage, particularly in bigger projects. For large projects contractors will generally only sign up 2 stage.

You can also use highest rate or PTE cost

Following this I asked contractors to confirm if they had included for all items / scope of works

A

The comparison of tenders needs to be on a like for like basis to ensure the evaluation is fair and no one has an unfair advantage by omitted scope etc
