Leukemia Flashcards
Which type of kidney disease is seen in patients with CLL?
Membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis.
Absolute blood lymphocyte threshold for dx of CLL
> 5000
Why are pts with CLL more prone to bacterial infections?
They can have hypogammaglobulinemia
Flow cytometry findings in CLL
Expression of B cell assoc antigens including CD19, CD20, and CD23. CD20 is kind of weak.
Expression of CD5, an antigen commonly expressed by T cells.
Low levels of surface membrane immunoglobulin. The Ig is usually IgM or both IgM and IgD, and only a single immunoglobulin light chain is expressed (i.e., either kappa or lambda, never both), revealing the clonal nature of these cells.
Indication and MOA of Rituximab
Treatment of CLL. Anti-CD20.
