Q

What is phase contrast microscopy?

A

alterations in light transmitted as changes in brightness

- light that is bouncing off of structures causes phase contrasts, more details

11
Q

How does sectioning tissue occur?

A

A section of tissue is taken and placed in wax or frozen. This block is then cut to make slides that are able to be stained and viewed on a microscope.

16
Q

When the energy excitation of flurophore increases, what occurs?

A

Photo absorption occurs, causing a bigger wave length and the light will change color…. more toward the Red end of the spectrum

17
Q

What is the light spectrum?

A

ROY G BIV

Red being the excited longest wavelength at 660nm and Violet being the shortest with the lowest energy at 420nm.
