To associate a new local user account with a manually migrated or restored user’s home folder, follow these steps:
- Copy the restored user’s home folder to the /Users folder.
- Open System Preferences and select Users and Groups.
- Create a new local user account with the same account name that was used for the user’s home folder.
You’ll be prompted to associate the new local user account with the restored home folder.
