Which gender determines the gender of the baby?
The father, because you must get an x from your mother (xx) but you can get an x or y from the dad.
What are traits determined by sex chromosomes called?
Sex-linked traits
What does being hemizygous mean?
In males, their chromosomes are shorter, meaning they have less room for traits. This is called being hemizygous.
What is a recessive trait?
A recessive trait can be masked by a dominant allele. If there is a dominant allele present, the recessive trait will not show
What is a dominant trait?
A dominant trait is a trait that can mask a recessive trait.
What is an X-Linked trait?
A trait influenced by the x chromosome
What is a Y linked trait
A trait influenced by the y chromosome
