ὁ ἀγαπητὸς μαθητὴς ἀκούει τοὺς ἀγαθοὺς λόγους.
The beloved disciple hears the good words.
ἄγει τὸν μόνον υἱὸν τῷ μικρῷ οἴκῳ.
He leads the only son to the small house.
Ἄγιος ἄγιος ἄγιος κύριος ὁ θεὸς . . .
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God . . .” (Rev. 4:8)
κακὴ ἁμαρτία καὶ ἡ βασιλεία ἀγαθή
Sin is bad and the kingdom is good.
βλέπομεν τὸν κακὸν καρπὸν καὶ τὸν καλὸν ἄρτον.
We see the bad fruit and the good bread.
ἀγαπητοί, οὺκ (not) ἐντολὴν καινὴν γράφω ὑμῖν (to you) ἀλλ ̓ (but) ἐντολὴν παλαιὰν (old) . . .
“Beloved ones, not a new commandment I write to you, but an old commandment . . . “ (1 John 2:7)
οἱ προφῆται λέγουσιν καινοὺς λόγους ἀληθεὶας τοῖς πιστοῖς.
The prophets speak new words of truth to the faithful.
αἱ ἡμέραι πονηραί εἰσιν (are).
“The days are evil.” (Eph. 5:16)
τοὺς νεκροὺς ὁ θεὸς ἐγείρει ταῖς ἐσχάταις ἡμέραις.
THe dead ones God will raise in the last days.
πιστὸς δὲ (but) ὁ θεός.
“But God is faithful.” (1 Cor. 10:13)
ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἔχει δικαίους φέρειν τὴν ἀλήθειαν τοῖς ἀνθρώποις.
The Son of Man has righteousness bringing the truth to men.
ἀγαθὸς ὁ ἀδελφὸς καὶ διδάσκει τοὺς πιστοὺς τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ.
The brother is good and is teaching the faithful in the church.
ὁ δίκαιος μαθητὴς γράφει ἄλλην παραβολήν ὅλῃ τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ.
THe righteous disciple is writing another parable to all the church.
ὁ ἕτερος ἄνθρωπος ἔχει τὸν μόνον κάλον υἱον.
The other man has the only good son.
πιστὴ ἡ διδαχὴ καὶ ὁ νόμος δίκαιος.
The teaching is faithful and the law is righteous.
