First Criterion: A Value Must Be Chosen Freely
A value must be chosen from alternatives. If there are no alternatives, there is no freedom of choice.
Second Criterion: A Value Must be Chosen from Alternatives
A value must be freely chosen after careful study of the consequences of each alternative. Understanding the consequences will allow the person to reevaluate his or her choice in the light of the new information
Third Criterion: A Value Must Be chosen After Considering the Consequences
A value is acted upon, performed and carried out: it influences a person’s behavior in some way. Value reflects in his actions

A value is something a person feels positive about it, he or she prizes it, cherished, respect, rejoice and celebrates. These cherished value gives him a sense of fulfillment and happiness
Sixth Criterion: A Value is Cherished
When a value is freely chosen and makes us happy, we tend to share it to others about it. A value that is full of values is usually campaigned and promoted.
Seventh Criterion: A Value Is Publicly Affirmed
If a value has been affirmed as a full value by having met the seven preceding criteria, it follows as a matter of course that the value will contribute to and enhance the person’s total growth toward the goals and ideals that he or she has chosen for
