What is the default tab for the orders activity
Active
Orders can be reviewed modified d/c and new orders can be placed here

Modifying an order
If u r changing the frequency dose rate priority or comment
When u r changing the form or route
U need to d/c original order and reorder

Most efficient way to look up
Type in a few letters and press enter
Select & stay
Most efficient way to add multiple orders on the same pt
Highlights order and saves it in the selected orders area
The search window remains open u can continue looking for additional orders
When all orders r selected click accept
Orders will appear on the sidebar
All current orders of the same order type will be highlighted in green
All Orders with similar display name will be highlighted in lavender
What happens behind the scenes when orders r modified
Original order is d/c and new order is placed
Med order have 2 lines in the MAR, 1 for the d/c order and 1 for the new order
May produce a miss dose there is a warning message
Exceptions to modifying a diet order
NPO to a diet
General diet to DM diet
Modifying orders EAR, end time, administration instructions, rate of meds
This process does not d/c original order or add a new row to MAR

Limits the choices based on profile to shorten the time needed to find a med
