Who is the ordering provider
The person who initiated the order
Typically defaults to the doc writing the order
RN writing order has to be entered manually

The way the order was received it is a required field ex telephone read back
Who is an authorizing provider?
This is The provider under whose authority the ordering provider is acting

If the ordering provider is also an authorizing provider these fields will automatically populate if not it must be enter manually

Orders which r standard orders to be executed when a certain condition arises or a pt meet a certain criteria.
This type of order is determined and defined by hospital policy
There r 2 types protocol requiring co-sign and no co sign
What is protocol
A set of orders that clinicians place for pts who must have specific problems or complaints.
In epic they are set up as an order set
An order set designed for a specific situation
