What is the definition of Violent Behavior?
Behaviors that are potentially hazardous to himself or to others

What is the first type of attempt you should make?
Verbal: Avoid threatening. Ask questions about what is troubling him and try to find the cause of his agitation
What is the second step?
Keep the “medical care image”
What must you do if you have administered medication to a violent patient?
Proceed with a careful follow-up
Convey the attitude that you believe the patient is a decent human being who is struggling to control thoughts and feeling
Assure them that no harm will come to them
An expeditious transfer should be arranged
What do you do if the patient is armed?
Leave the area quickly, if possible
Warn all personnel to clear the area and notify the authorities
If you are unable to leave, keep talking and allow no silences to develop
Make no abrupt movements
When should you use restraints?
The patient is violent
The patient refuses to go to a medical or psychiatric facility
The patient is hallucinating or has delusions
The patient is evacuated by air

How do you use the Double Litter Field Restraining device?
Do not use for a long period of time
Place patient on litter in the prone position with his head turned to one side
Put each of the patients hands along his thigh and secure each hand to the litter
Place the other litter, carrying side down, on top of the patient
Bind the litters together using at least 2 straps
