What is the name of a registration document?
V5C
What obligations are placed on the parties with regard to the completion of V5Cs
Previous keeper writes the new keepers name and address in the “new keeper” section. Also writes there details in the green section, and sends to DVLA
Both new and previous keeper sign and date the declaration section. New owner retains the green section until they receive a new registration document.
If selling to a motor trader the owner must complete the relevant section, send to DVLA and hand the remaining parts to the motor trader.
Motor traders who only operate the vehicle under a trade licence need only notify DVLA once 3 months have elapsed or when the vehicle is disposed of

Creates an offence for:-

How long are new vehicles exempt from MOT
THREE YEARS from registration of manufacture date if used on road before registration
Exemptions to MOT
- vehicle travelling to or from pre arranged test
- after a test, taking a vehicle to or from a place of repair
- vehicles removed or seized by official bodies such as police or customs and excise
- Police vehicles
- foreign vehicles used temporarily in the UK
- Certain other vehicles are exempt if they are subject to other testing requirments.
What are the laws in relation to production of test certificates?

officers may require a person to produce a valid test certificate if they are:
- driving a car on a road
- suspected of having committed a motoring offence on a road
- suspected of driving a motor vehicle on a road or other public place, when involved in a road collision
VT20/TRE
Receipt of an MOT test having taken place, was introduced to reduce fraud and allow info to go straight into a national computer database.
Don’t rely on it as proof of testing and check on PNC or online.
