Q

Vowel “r”

A

When “r” is used in combination with a vowel, it modifies the vowel sound rather than being pronounced distinctly. In this case, the “r” serves to color or lengthen the preceding vowel, slightly changing its pronunciation but not standing out as a separate, clear-cut sound.
