Normative social influence?
People have a fundamental need to be liked by others and want to be part of a group. We therefore avoid any behaviour that may make people reject us. —-> likely to lead to compliance

Informational Social influence
People want to be correct in their opinions and ideas but there is no objective way to be certain. Use others to determine if we are “correct”. This is most likely to happen in a situation that is ambiguous/ others are experts.
—-> leads to internalisation

Held people get along
When unsure follow everyone else
Negatives of conformity
Lack of individuality/ no change
Could lead to injustice
