Similarities:
- Both involve physical activity
- both increase health and fitness
- performed in a persons free time
Differences:
Sport is more selective than physical recreation
Physical recreation is more about taking part whereas sport is focused on winning
Rules can be modified for physical recreation whereas in sport they are more set
What are the similarities and differences between physical recreation and physical education ?
Similarities:
- develop physical skills and are energetic
- Have health and fitness benefits
- intrinsic benefits of enjoyment
Differences:
- physical recreation is voluntary but PE is compulsory
- PE is in school time
- PE is formal teaching whereas physical recreation is informal
What are the differences between PE and school sport ?
Differences:
- PE is in lesson whereas school sport is in free time
